I’ve been training with Val monthly since the fall of 2022. At the time, my goal was body recomposition — to lose fat and build muscle. I’d been a long-distance runner and endurance athlete most of my life, but coming out of the pandemic my habits had shifted and I needed support in learning how to approach strength training in a structured, effective way that would help me reach my goals.
From the beginning, Val focused on building a strong foundation. Our early sessions prioritized proper technique and form, and over time, I progressed from using machines to working with free weights and barbell training. Between our live sessions, she provided me with a clear, well-structured training plan that was both adaptable and easy to integrate into my schedule.
Val also brought valuable nutrition knowledge to the table, reinforcing the work I was doing outside of the gym to support my progress.
In my first year of training with her, I went from 212 lbs to 184 lbs and significantly increased my muscle mass. The changes were noticeable — not just to me, but to others — which was incredibly motivating. I felt stronger, leaner, and more confident.
Val is a riot to work with. She’s more than just a trainer — she’s a coach, a source of support, and a genuine friend. Training sessions are fun. I’ve been working with Val once a week for almost 4 years and have seen a huge difference in my strength and stability and it has helped me manage my weight.
